Happy New Year Detective Ed Moffit!

On New Years Day 1953 Patrolman Ed Moffit was on duty at the legendary Philadelphia Mummers Parade. The Mummers have been strutting on the streets of Philadelphia well before the American Revolution.

Patrolman Moffit was notified by his commanding officer that he was to report immediately downtown because he had passed the Detective's Exam. On that Happy New Years Day, Ed Moffit's dream came true: He had become a Detective.

John Tersigni produced this film which celebrates the comedy, creativity and revelry of America's oldest folk parade.
